Outdoor advertising questions
Outdoor and TV advertising FAQs
Use these answers to understand the basics, then share a real brief for current locations, availability and costs.
01
What is out-of-home advertising?
Out-of-home advertising reaches people in public and commercial places outside the home. It includes billboards, bus shelters, transport, retail, digital screens and many other place-based formats.
02
What is digital out-of-home advertising?
Digital out-of-home, or DOOH, uses screens in physical environments such as roadsides, stations, shopping centres and venues. Scheduling and creative options vary by network.
03
Which advertising formats can DOOH Media arrange?
The team can explore billboards, buses, bus shelters, rail and Underground environments, airports, taxis, retail, shopping centres, place-based screens, suitable specialist venues and television. Availability is checked against each brief.
04
How much does outdoor advertising cost?
There is no single price. Location, format, dates, duration, demand, coverage, production and creative requirements all affect the total. A target area, timing and approximate budget allow responsible current options to be compared. For more detail, see our guides to billboard advertising costs, London Underground advertising costs and TV advertising costs.
05
Is there a minimum campaign budget?
DOOH Media does not impose a minimum campaign spend. Media owners, broadcasters, platforms and individual products may have their own booking requirements, so share the available budget and the team can explain the realistic options.
06
How far ahead should I plan an OOH campaign?
Lead times vary. Earlier planning gives more choice, particularly for premium locations, printed production, full wraps, bespoke creative and multi-format campaigns. If the dates are close, the team can check what remains practical.
07
Can outdoor advertising target one town or local area?
Yes, subject to available inventory. Campaigns can focus on a town, route, catchment, branch network or group of destinations rather than buying broad national coverage.
08
Can DOOH Media plan a UK-wide campaign?
Yes. National campaigns can combine scalable networks with extra weight in priority regions, cities or local markets, coordinated through one plan.
09
Does DOOH Media buy the media as well as plan it?
Yes. The team can plan and buy suitable media, check live availability, coordinate specifications and support the campaign through to delivery and available reporting.
10
Can you design the advertising artwork?
Yes. Creative can be developed from a new brief or adapted from existing brand assets, then prepared around the viewing conditions and specifications of the booked media.
11
How is an outdoor campaign measured?
The available evidence depends on the format and booking. It may include audience or location data, delivery reports, play-out information, posting or installation evidence and any separate brand, web or response measurement arranged for the campaign.
12
Can TV and outdoor advertising be planned together?
Yes. Television can add broadcast, streaming or addressable reach while outdoor advertising builds physical presence in selected places. The channels should be combined only when each has a clear role in the audience plan.
